The Lehigh University supplement is all-new for the 2019-20 application season. Instead of a simple "Why Lehigh," you now have to address three short-answer prompts.

Let's take a look!

• How did you first learn about Lehigh University and what motivated you to apply? (150 words)

This replaces last year's 150-word "Why Lehigh" supplement.  Because it's so short, the key here will be to find a central motivation to focus on. For more information, check out our guide to last year's supplement, or our general "Why this school" guide.

• Your time at Lehigh will be shaped in large part by others. What personal perspective will you contribute based on your unique interests, experiences, and background? (250 words)

This is what's known as a "background" essay. It's your chance to talk about where you're coming from, and why you'd be a good fit for Lehigh.  This is where you can answer "Why Lehigh" with "Why me at Lehigh?"

• With the understanding that you are able to change Colleges at Lehigh after one year, why did you choose to apply to the College or program you selected above? (650 characters)

This is essentially a "Why this Major" essay.  (For more general information on this kind of prompt, check out our guide!)  With 650 words, you'll have room to touch on both the personal experiences that motivate your interest in your field of study, and the nitty gritty details of the specific classes and opportunities that excite you about your chosen college at Lehigh!
